Making Money Online: Time Management
Making money online is not unlike any other business. There are so many details, it’s easy to get overwhelmed! Internet Marketing is no different, time management is critical. You have to maintain the business you have, while developing new income streams. Before you know it, you are juggling several balls at once!
To help stay on track, it’s important to get organized. Your time is your most valuable asset, spend it wisely. Start by listing all the tasks you have before you. Next, assign each task a priority. For example, have three categories: P1 are tasks that simply can not wait, and require your immediate attention. P2 are those tasks that must be done today before you finish. And P3 are tasks that merit your attention, but simply put, can wait until your other tasks are complete.
Now you are ready to develop a weekly schedule for completing your prioritized tasks. This weekly plan can then be further broken down into a daily action plan. Plan how much time you will need to spend completing your tasks. Budget your time accordingly. Most importantly, you must have the discipline to work your budgeted time.
If you budget 1 hour for article writing, don’t get distracted by the newest, coolest article submission software reviews online. Before you know it, you have spent most of the hour surfing the internet, and didn’t finish a single article. Has this ever happened to you? If so, you’re not alone, everyone has done it. Have the discipline to work your daily plan.
By getting organized you will find you are accomplishing more tasks in less time. Instead of putting off something until you “have the time”, you will simply work through it, just like you planned. You will also find yourself more focused on building your business as you gain confidence in your abilities.
You have to be realistic when setting your goals, and have an accurate idea of how much time they will take. If you try to hurry it up, and do too much at first, you will only frustrate yourself, and feel like you are getting further behind making money online. If you have to re-evaluate your weekly plan, that’s fine. Just be honest with yourself about how much time it will take, and how much time you have to devote to it.
It’s important to only work one program or concept at a time. Completely finish one project before moving on to the next. Then “wash, rinse, repeat” as the saying goes. Duplicate your efforts in the next project, build on your successes, and learn from the failures you face (everyone does).
Outsourcing can be a great idea when you are ready. You can save a lot of time, and build your business super fast by utilizing the efforts of others. Copywriting, article submission, and graphic design are popular opportunities for outsourcing. It all depends on how you want to build your business. Obviously, there are expenses involved in outsourcing, however, you will be able to produce and market products much quicker.
When it comes to making money online, run your business, don’t let it run you! Be realistic and disciplined with your time, and you will start to see real results!
