Lee-McIntyre.com: 28 Free Marketing Tools

Have you heard of Lee McIntyre?  If you haven’t, head over to Lee-McIntyre.com and check him out.  Lee lives “across the pond” in England.  Until just a few months ago was a full-time school teacher.  In those months, he has generated a monthly income of over $20K.  His approach to the business is honest and generous.  He is really kind of a breath of fresh air in the internet marketing world.  I won’t go on and on about him, give him a visit and see for yourself.

Recently on his blog he released his list of “28 Free Marketing Tools I Couldn’t Live Without: Part 1″.  Click Here to read the post.  These are all marketing tools available to each of us at no cost.  Some of these you will most likely be familiar with, while some may be totally new to you.

I hope this resource will help you be more successful in 2008!

Free Web Hosts: Are They Right For You?

Web hosting is not only getting less expensive, in some cases it’s absolutely free! However, as with everything in life, free is not always better. What I’ve tried to do here is take a look at the two best free web hosts. I have used both before, but currently I do not use either one.

First is GeoCities, which is in the Yahoo stable. They offer a totally free web hosting account. The major drawback to this account is that it is completely covered in advertising (of course, that’s why it’s free). The ads get a little annoying and obtrusive. To take it up a notch, they offer GeoCities Plus for $4.95 a month (plus a $10 setup). This account comes with 500 MB disk space and 25 GB bandwidth. Next is GeoCities Pro for $8.95 (plus $15 setup). The Pro account includes a free domain name, bumps you up to 2 GB disk space and 100 GB bandwidth. The Pro account includes 5 email addresses as well. Their top of the line account, Web Hosting, runs $11.95 a month but has no set up fee. It also has no advertising and includes a domain name. Their Web Hosting account has unlimited disk space and bandwidth, 1000 email addresses and 24/7 technical support.

Another free web host I have used before is FreeWebs. Just like GeoCities, their free account is advertising (banner) supported and will eventually get on your nerves! They offer some cool tools to help you build your site, create a blog, add e-commerce functions, install widgets, etc. To escape the banner ads they offer Premium Enhanced for $8.33 a month (no set up fee). This account comes with 25 GB bandwidth and 750 MB Disk Space, and 5 email accounts. Their Premium Pro account runs $20.83 a month and boosts your bandwidth up to 100 GB, with 2.5 GB disk space and 15 email addresses.

As you can see free web hosts are designed to do one thing, get you to sign up for a paid hosting account. That’s cool, but it really pays to shop around as all hosting accounts are not created equal.

If you just want to post some pictures for friends and family, try one of the free hosting accounts. There’s no expense, and they will serve your purpose. However, if you plan to create an Adsense or affiliate marketing site of some kind, you will probably be frustrated with a free hosting account. Not to mention your potential customers will be annoyed with all of the extra advertisements.

So it all depends on your purpose to determine if a free web host is right for you. I now use 1 and 1 for all my hosting needs. I previously used a very well known hosting company. I compared them to 1 and 1, and for half the monthly fee, I was able to get twice the disk space and bandwidth!

Think of web hosts as the “landlords” of the internet. We pay them rent for space online every month. Just like in life, not all landlords are the same. It really pays off to compare.

Working On A New Project

Hello. Thanks for visiting my site. I’m working on a brand new project in the consumer credit niche. It seems like this project has taken all of my time lately. It will soon be up and running, and I’ll let you know much more about it when launched.

I just realized it had been a full two weeks since my last post here! Wow! That really opened my eyes. My day job still takes most of my time (know what I mean?), but the time I have been devoting to my Internet Marketing business has been all about my new project.

My intention for this site, for now at least, is to give a general idea of what’s going on with my Internet Marketing business. Another one of my sites, Legitimate Web Income, is a site designed to help the emerging Internet Marketer get off the ground.

If you’re just trying to find me, or want to drop me a line, this site is best. If you found this site and are trying to figure out how to get started making money online, then check out my Legitimate Web Income site.

If I’m not keeping things up around here, let me know!
